Rob Haynie 2024 Alan H. Buerger Industry Leadership Award Recipient

The Life Insurance Settlement Association on Oct. 24 awarded the Alan H. Buerger leadership award to Rob Haynie, managing director of Life Insurance Settlements Inc., a longtime member of the life settlement market, at the trade group’s 30th annual conference in Miami.

“I was thrilled Rob got this award. I think he is really a great leader in the industry,” Alan Buerger, executive chairman of Coventry First LLC, said.

Haynie has been a member of the market for more than 25 years, dating to its origin as the viatical settlement market. Haynie, a current board member of LISA, is serving an additional three-year term.

Haynie has been managing director of his life settlement broker based in Pompano Beach, Fla., for more than 19 years, according to his LinkedIn profile. He previously was the owner and vice president of Life Settlement Alliance Inc. and executive vice president of Medical Escrow Society Inc.

“As one of the industry’s foundational builders, he has tirelessly advocated for the importance of life settlements in financial planning, educating intermediaries about the value of life insurance and the need to consider settlement options,” LISA said.

“Mr. Haynie’s unwavering dedication and leadership have been integral to the growth and success of both the life settlement industry and LISA,” the trade group also said, saying he’s served multiple terms on the group’s board and has participated in events, panels and on committees as well as regularly engaging with stakeholders to advance industry goals.

In addition, he’s recruited new members and consistently supported LISA as a charter member and financial sponsor and has driven key initiatives such as the group’s annual provider survey, LISA said. He also has served on boards and councils to advocate for the asset in the wider financial community.
