All Life Insurance Settlements ("LIS") brokers are licensed by the Florida Department of Financial Services. They currently hold Life Agent Licenses with Viatical Settlement Broker Appointment.

LIS's newly hired brokers are initially trained "in-house" by the firm's Managing Director, Compliance Manger and/or Processing Manager. The training includes a comprehensive overview of the life settlement industry in general, with emphasis on the responsibilities and obligations of the broker in particular. Topics include but are not limited to confidentiality of medical records and related information, licensing requirements and an overview of insurance policy types. The brokers are also required to sit at the workstation of a seasoned broker for at least one month. They monitor the mentor's daily activities, including but not limited to, client relations, conversations, presentations, illustrations, forms/applications preparations, closings and client services. Office protocol and procedures are also part of the training.


Training is ongoing, and the brokers receive bulletins and publications dealing with new developments and procedures in the life settlement industry.
