Licensing
Licensing Policy
Most states that have passed legislation will issue licenses to business entities, and in these states LIS has either been issued a license, or is in the process of obtaining licensure. Among these states, some issue Settlement authority specifically and others only issue Producer authority. In these states, LIS has obtained Producer authority and appropriate appointments. In like manner, several states will only issue licenses to individuals, and upon appointment by a Provider entity, these individuals become "designated" to transact settlement business on behalf of the business entity. In some states, key personnel of LIS have acquired individual licenses to meet the requirements.
